What is a tantric massage?

Tantra treats the body as a whole: there are no areas "to massage" and areas "to avoid". A tantric massage is received naked, with warm oils. The masseuse works with her hands, her forearms and at times her whole body, in long, continuous, enveloping strokes. The aim is not performance or speed. It is to let energy circulate, quieten the mind and open the senses. Many of our clients describe the end of a session as a floating state, at once deeply calm and intensely alive.

How a session unfolds at Les Chandelles

On arrival you are welcomed into a discreet salon, where we take a few minutes to talk about what you are looking for and where your limits lie. A shower is available before and after the massage. The session opens with a moment of breathing and first contact, then the massage gradually spreads across the body: back, legs, arms, belly, and, if you wish, the more intimate areas, always at the pace you set. The light is dimmed, candles are lit, the music is soft. Nothing is ever rushed. Afterwards you are given time to rest before stepping back into your day.

• Individual tantric massage: from 30 minutes to 2 hours. We recommend at least 60 minutes for a first experience, and 90 to 120 minutes to truly let go.
• Four-hands tantric massage: two masseuses working in mirror image, in a synchrony that pleasantly disarms the mind.
• Couples tantric massage: received together and guided by a masseuse, to rediscover sensuality as a couple. On request.

Tantric or erotic massage: what is the difference?

It is the question we are asked most often. Tantric massage favours slowness, breathing and the circulation of energy throughout the body; the sensual dimension is part of it, but not its purpose. An erotic massage is more direct, more body-to-body, and oriented towards the pleasure of the senses. Both are practised at Les Chandelles by the same masseuses, and we are happy to help you choose over the phone.
